EastEnders Spoilers indicate that the world of soaps is renowned for love interests, and two favourites in Walford could be able to take the next step in their relationship. Sharon Mitchell (Letitia Dean) and Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) have been friends on the soap for nearly 30 years, but it seems there could be romance on the cards.
Their friendship has survived everything that has been put in front of them, so it’s only logical that a romance could blossom from that. Ian was the only one in Walford not to turn his back on Sharon when it emerged that she had an affair with Keanu (Danny Walters), and his support has helped her get through the testing period.

It’s unlikely that Sharon would have been able to get through the last couple of months without Ian. He has been there for her throughout the backlash, while he has also helped her, it has come against the advice of Ben (Max Bowden) and Kathy (Gillian Taylforth), who both warned that she would break his heart.
It isn’t known yet whether the two will get together, but it wouldn’t be the first time that they have been close to getting together. Ian once announced his love to her in the 80s, where they did go on to date for a while, before they later broke up and agreed to be friends.

That initial relationship came to an end once Sharon decided that she had feelings for Simon instead. Meanwhile, Ian also found love quickly after as he moved on to Tina. However, with how close the pair have been since the Keanu debacle, there could be fresh hope.
It could be second time lucky for the two EastEnders legends, as they are closer now than they were 35 years ago.
