Britney Spears voluntarily checked herself into a rehab facility after her DUI arrest. A representative for Spears confirmed the news to the Daily Mail last night.

Britney Loves “Pouring Her Heart Out in AA” as Her Main Goal Is to Heal

An insider told TMZ that, “She realizes she hit rock bottom.” The pop princess has had substance abuse issues for years, and when she was arrested, the officers found the ADHD medication, Adderall.

She had also been drinking when the California Patrol pulled her over after driving recklessly in March. Britney was reportedly near her home and was speeding and driving erratically.

She was booked into Ventura County Jail early the following morning and was later released. The singer of “Hit Me, Baby One More Time” also started attending AA meetings and was “open and honest” about her issues.

A source told the Daily Mail,

“She loves pouring her heart out as she knows that is the best way to heal and feel better.”

    They also added,

“The only thing she has indulged in is fancy coffee drinks. She is being super careful because she wants to be there for her kids.”

Britney has also reportedly not had a drop of alcohol since her arrest. Spears had been spending time with her two sons, Jayden James and Sean Preston.

This isn’t the first time Britney has participated in AA meetings. As the “Womanizer” singer wrote in her 2023 memoir, “The Woman In Me,” she had to attend Alcoholics Anonymous meetings four times a week during her conservatorship.

For years, Britney was controlled by her father, Jamie Spears. According to Spears, he was abusive and watched and controlled her every move. The conservatorship began in 2007 after a highly publicized breakdown and ended in 2021.

Britney’s DUI Arrest “Served as a Wake-Up Call”

Now, Britney’s arrest has reportedly “served as a wake-up call.” Of course, the “Toxic” singer has her upcoming court case for her DUI in mind.

    An insider reported to TMZ,

“She knows strategically this will look good in front of the judge and that she’s taking it seriously.”

Her children have also been very supportive of Britney’s decision to seek treatment. The singer may also stay longer in the rehab facility than the typical 30-day period.

Another source explained that Britney has decided to “put her mental health first.” The insider also said,

“Everyone just wants Britney to be healthy and in a good place, and the fact that this was her decision just proves how dedicated she is to her own recovery and getting herself back on solid ground.”

Spears has made the right choice to seek help for her mental health issues. Britney’s fans have long feared for her mental health, as many of her Instagram posts have been deeply concerning.

A couple of years ago, Britney posted a video of herself dancing while playing with knives, which called the extent of her issues into question.

Britney later told her followers that she was trying to imitate a dance she had seen her fellow singer Shakira perform on MTV.

However, Britney considers that her behavior has spiraled and she needs treatment. She plans to follow the law from now on.

    A representative for Spears said,

“Hopefully this can be the first step in long overdue change that needs to occur in Britney’s life.”
