‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Stacy Haiduk, who plays Patty Williams on Y&R and Kristen DiMera on Days of Our Lives, recently dished to Soap Opera Digest about her recent return to Genoa City.

The legendary villainess has been obsessed with Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) for decades. Her surprise comeback has longtime Y&R fans buzzing.
The timing of her reprisal of the role of Patty was perfect for Haiduk, as she recently wrapped up her stint at DOOL and is no longer on contract with the Peacock soap.
Haiduk told SOD that DOOL basically
“put her characters Kristen DiMera and Susan Banks to rest.”
The actress commented that they do that a lot on Days.
However, that’s not to say she won’t pop back up again on DOOL as those characters. That said, Haiduk got a call from Y&R executive producer Josh Griffith two weeks after finishing up on DOOL, and he asked her to return to Y&R.
Patty’s portrayer is not on contract with either show. However, Y & R may snatch her up now that she’s technically free from her obligations at DOOL.
Haiduk admitted that if DOOL calls her again, she’s down. For now, she’s enjoying her time in Genoa City. It also gave her a chance to reunite with her former DOOL co-stars, Billy Flynn (ex-Chad DiMera), Lucas Adams (ex-Tripp Johnson), and Sienna (ex-Ava Vitali).
Now on Y&R, Flynn plays Cane Ashby, Adams plays Noah Newman, and Braun plays Sienna Bacall. So, it was like coming home for Haiduk.
‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Haiduk’s Soap Career Took Off When She Played Patty
Haiduk first appeared on Y&R in 2009, playing Patty Williams. She had played Hannah Nichols on All My Children. Coming over to Y&R as Patty was how her soap career really took off.
According to SOD,
“Haiduk embraced the challenge and Patty’s outlandishness.”
She recalls that period of time as,
“The first time I was able to take that leap off a cliff, kind of.”
Haiduk shared,
“I just had to take a leap of faith, and that’s when I started finding the Mary Jane, the Patty, the Emily, and the love that they had deep inside them.”
She added,
“I think that I always bring a lot of heart and love to my characters. They might be bad, and they do bad things, but they’re coming from the right place.”
In Haiduk’s estimation, bringing Patty back is “delicious.” Plus, she was able to reunite with one of her favorite fellow actors, Peter Bergman, who plays the object of Patty’s affection, Jack Abbott.

Haiduk also hinted that
“This isn’t the same Patty we’ve seen before.” She said, “She’s a little bit more together, but you’ve got to keep your eye on her and see what she does.”
A juicy plot point fans are clamoring for is Patty’s inevitable clash with Diane Jenkins Abbott (Susan Walters). Jack had sex with Diane on the day of his wedding to Patty in 1982 and continued the affair well into the marriage.
And Patty’s so-called
“reign of terror is just kicking off.” Haiduk divulged, “She’s going to wreak a lot of havoc with the love of her life, Jack, and some other characters. Haiduk quipped, “She will make some new alliances and friends that won’t be a taxidermy cat.”
The actress concluded,
“Patty is going to bring a little excitement to the party. I’m really excited to be back, and I hope the fans are ready for Patty to wreak some havoc!”
