‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: The Actress Shared On Instagram She’s Coming Back In April
The actress was on the show for about six months when she was suddenly given her walking papers, which was shocking.
Interestingly, we predicted this would happen over a year ago when we found out that Joy was pregnant by Alex and abruptly left Salem. It’s basic soap 101.
We suspect she left town to keep her pregnancy a secret. Joy’s return will certainly shake up Alex and Stephanie Johnson Kirikais’s (Abigail Klein) new marriage.
Hopkins shared the exciting news that she’s back on the Peacock soap on Friday, April 24th. In a video for the DOOL audience, she declared,
“Surprise! I’m back! You thought Joy was gone. She’s back in Salem. To find out why, you’ll have to tune into Peacock.”
The caption on the social media post posed the question:
“What trouble will Joy be getting into this time?”
Joy is the little sister of fan-favorite, Chloe Lane (Nadja Borlin) and the daughter of Nancy Wesley (Patrika Darbo) and Craig Wesley (Kevin Sparta).
The character was born in March 2003. Joy was also a match for Chloe, who was diagnosed with leukemia. Nancy and Craig left Salem in 2005, taking Joy with them.
Joy returned to town in October 2024. She also drove a wedge between Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) and Chanel Dupree DiMera (Raven Bowens).
Joy landed a role on the DOOL soap opera, Body and Soul. She played Regan Holloway on the show within a show.
Regan was featured as a troublemaker, similar to her character, Joy, on DOOL. She secured the role of Regan thanks to Johnny, who was directing Body and Soul.

The truth about Johnny and Joy’s relationship came out on New Year’s Eve when Johnny told Chanel that he never slept with Joy. He pretty much did everything with her but have sex.
After that debacle, Joy fell for Alex, and they slept together. However, he was always in love with Stephanie. Joy discovered that she was pregnant.
She lied to Alex, telling him it was a false alarm. Joy had scored a job at Titan, but suddenly left town carrying Alex’s child.
She left Salem in March 2025 and headed for the Big Apple. The last we heard, she was in New York, possibly trying her hand at another acting gig.
Now that Alex and Stephanie are married, Joy’s return is major high-stakes drama for the newlywed couple. Joy’s baby will undoubtedly sway Alex.
Alex desperately wants kids, but it’s clear that Stephanie isn’t ready. She admitted as much to Alex after they shared drinks and dinner with Chanel and Johnny, and Chanel shared that she was pregnant.
Some fans are also speculating that Joy may somehow be involved with Owen Kent (Wes Ramsey), who stalked and kidnapped Stephanie and framed Jeremy Horton (Michael Roark) for the crime.
It’s going to be very interesting to see what Joy brings to the table. It’s obvious she’s coming back with her baby. Will she cause trouble for Stephanie and Alex?
