‘Days of Our Lives’ spoilers reveal that Wes Ramsey has returned to his role as Owen Kent on DOOL after 16 years.

‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Owen Kent Was Revealed as Stephanie’s Stalker/Kidnapper

The actor recently dished to TV Insider about his comeback and the huge twist that Owen is Stephanie Johnson Kiriakis’s (Abigail Klein) kidnapper/stalker.

    Ramsey gushed,

“Being asked to reprise a role that I played 16 years ago is something I’ve never done before. That’s the kind of thing that can happen in daytime, and it was absolutely a wonderful experience.”

The actor also shared that he had no idea when he filmed his DOOL scenes last summer that he would reprise the role of Owen Kent.

    Ramsey said,

“It’s a great gift to be called back to do something you did once before because it means that somewhere along the way, someone making creative decisions liked what you were doing enough to want you bring you back.”

    He continued,

“It’s a compliment and something I don’t take for granted.” Ramsey stepping back into Salem was like a blast from the past for him.

Ramsey explained that the last time he had been there, it was in 2009. A lot of changes have obviously gone down since then.

    He added,

“I remember being in the hallway, and Alison Sweeny, who plays Sami Brady had a group of people standing around, and she was trying to show all of them on a smartphone what this new thing was called a tweet. Twitter was brand new.”

Of course, Ramsey also had fun reconnecting with his former cast members. He got to spend some time with Eric Martsolf, who plays Brady Black, and Galen Gering, who plays Rafe Hernandez.

Ramsey appreciated that he had started as Owen back when there was a screen test for all of them. Ramsey, Martsolf, and Gering all started on the show around the same time.

    He beamed,

“For me to jump back in the saddle with them was wonderful, and I loved giving those guys big hugs and reconnecting with them.”

Ramsey also relished the challenge of bringing Owen back into Salem’s orbit and helping to drive the story forward.

After reading the script, Ramsey wondered how far he could take Owen,

“How much fun can we have? How much is too much?

The soap star also admitted that he sees something in Owen that others may not see.

“Owen is a man who desperately wants to love and be loved and is lonely.”

Ramsey loved getting to work with his new scene partners, Abigail Klein and Robert Scott Wilson, who plays Stephanie’s new husband, Alex Kiriakis.

The clever twist that Owen is the stalker evidently confused some viewers, who didn’t realize that the prior sequence with Jeremy Horton (Michael Roark) had been a dream.

Remember, Stephanie was knocked unconscious and was probably hallucinating. Everyone thought that Jeremy was the culprit.

Next week, a deranged Owen will accuse Stephanie of being unfaithful to him. Yet, they have never even been a couple.

Obviously, Owen may have difficulty distinguishing between fiction and reality. He’s likely also a huge fan of Stephanie’s erotic novel, “One Stormy Night.”

So, it’s going to be interesting to see what happens and find out what Ramsey and Owen Kent have to bring to the table.
