Former US President Joe Biden has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer. The disease has spread to his bones, as Biden was diagnosed on Friday after he sought medical treatment for urinary symptoms.
Biden’s Cancer Isn’t Curable, But It Is Treatable
Doctors found a nodule on his prostate. According to the statement from his office, he was diagnosed with a “Gleason score of 9 and grade group 5 prostate cancer with metastasis to the bone.” His cancer is not curable, but it is hopefully treatable; however, with the scores mentioned above, the cancer can grow and spread very quickly.
The American Cancer Society states that a prostate cancer’s grade group is indicative of how likely the tumor is to grow and spread, and how quickly it could occur.
“While this represents a more aggressive form of the disease, the cancer appears to be hormone sensitive, which allows for effective management.”
A source close to President Joe Biden said.
The 82 -year- old previous president and his family are investigating treatment options. Biden’s health has been widely scrutinized.
There has been much speculation that those close to the Biden presidential campaign were hiding how far-gone Biden was and should not have attempted to run for a second term. Biden dropped out of the race four months before the 2024 election.
In February 2024, his doctor communicated that he reportedly showed “no signs of trouble” at his annual 2024 physical exam.
In 2023, Biden had a lesion removed from his chest, and it was determined to be cancerous. The biopsy confirmed that it was basal cell carcinoma, and the lesion and surrounding areas were successfully removed.
Biden Received An Outpouring Of Love And Support From Both Political Sides
After the news of Biden’s illness broke, he received an outpouring of love and support from both political sides.
US President Donald Trump wrote on his social media platform Truth Social that he and First Lady Melania Trump.
“We are saddened to hear about Joe Biden’s recent medical diagnosis.”
They added,
“We extend our warmest and best wishes to Jill and the family.”
He said, referring to former First Lady Jill Biden. The message concluded,
“We wish Joe a fast and successful recovery.”
Meghan McCain, daughter of former Senator and republican presidential candidate in 2000 and 2008, John McCain, who passed away from cancer in 2018, sent well wishes.
“Wishing nothing but healing, prayers, light, and strength to President Biden and his family,”
She said.
Republican representative Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia sympathized as her father passed away from cancer in 2021.
Democratic National Committee chairman and Biden’s friend, Jamie Harrison, also sent him heartfelt prayers and well-wishes.
Biden’s former Vice President, Kamala Harris, posted on X on behalf of herself and her husband,
“Doug and I are saddened to learn of President Biden’s prostate cancer diagnosis. We are keeping him, Dr. Biden, and their entire family in our hearts and prayers during this time.”
Harris concluded with a positive and uplifting message,
