‘Days Of Our Lives’ (DOOL) spoilers suggest that Holly Jonas (Ashley Puzemis) was right to end her relationship with Tate Black (Leo Howard).
‘Days Of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Holly Formed A Friendship With Doug
Holly has tolerated a lot of nonsense with Tate. The idyllic teenage romance they shared hit the skids long before Tate tattled on Doug Williams III (Peyton Meyer).
Tate slept with Sophia Choi (Rachel Boyd), who’s now pregnant with his baby. He and Holly were taking a “break” from their relationship.
Holly has had to contend with Tate and Sophie’s baby drama ever since, and even though Tate may love Holly, the situation is far from ideal.
She formed a friendship with Doug, and they’ve been spending time together. Holly shared a major secret with Tate about Doug and trusted him to keep his mouth shut.
Doug stole Julie Williams’s (Susan Seaforth Hayes) necklace when he first came to town because he owed money to some shady thugs who were threatening him.
The necklace in question was a family heirloom that once belonged to the Horton matriarch, the late Alice Horton (Francis Reid).
Doug was completely unaware of the sentimental value of this piece of jewelry and didn’t think the necklace would be missed.
Holly helped Doug pay off the hoodlums and thought that was that. Unfortunately, Julie saw Melinda Trask (Tina Huang) wearing the necklace and accused her of theft.
She demanded the necklace back from Melinda, but she refused to hand it over. Julie filed a police report, but Melinda sold it.
With the police involved, Tate ratted out Doug to Julie right when he was about to confess. This robbed Tate of the opportunity to tell Julie himself.
While we don’t condone what Doug did, we can see he’s felt deeply remorseful ever since he pilfered the necklace.
‘Days Of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Doug Stealing Julie’s Necklace Wasn’t Tate’s Secret To Tell
The reason we think Tate was in the wrong is because of the timing. Holly was with Tate, but she rushed off to see Doug when he called.
That’s when Tate blabbed to Julie. Tate’s fears about Holly being mixed up in this mess may have been a factor in his decision to tell Julie. He is obviously justified in worrying about Holly being implicated.
However, Tate knows Holly has been having significant difficulty with the possibility that Tate and Sophia may have to raise their baby together if they can’t find a suitable adopter that meets Amy Choi’s (Shi New Nielson) standards.
Deep down, Tate is jealous that Holly left to see Doug and is also afraid of losing her because of Sophia’s situation.
Holly and Doug seem to have a more mature connection without any complications, and she feels she can trust Doug. Unfortunately for Holly, Tate comes with too much baggage. For Holly, Tate tattling on Doug was the final straw.
Holly’s decision to break up with Tate, and knowing relationships shouldn’t be this hard, was a very mature response to Tate’s betrayal. Right now, Holly and Tate are going down different paths.
It would be interesting to see Holly and Doug’s bond intensify, even if we already know Holly and Tate will eventually find their way back to each other.
