Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have a need to feel important, and one of their favorite causes to champion is violence against children online and bullying.
Meghan Claimed To Be “One Of The Most Bullied People In The World”
Meghan went to an event about a month ago for teenage girls in a digital wellness program. She told them that she was “one of the most bullied people in the world.”
If that’s not narcissistic, we don’t know what is. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle insist on keeping up with this cosplay royal routine where they pretend to care about socially relevant causes, but they aren’t offering viable solutions. Instead, they are attempting to boost their public image.
An example of this is a video the Sussexes recently created for the Archewell Foundations’ Parents Network. No one really knows what the Parents Network is, but Harry and Meghan claim the platform supports parents and families of children who have been harmed by social media’s effects.
In their CBS Sunday morning interview with Jane Pauley, they couldn’t even explain what the Parents Network does.
With the amount of money Prince Harry and Meghan pour into their communications strategy, it’s consistently terrible. The couple put their video on their site, which is well-designed but a functional failure.
They have various places to post their information rather than having it all in one location. When you go to their website to find the video, it takes you to another website, which is confusing and disorganized.
There is no play button to start and stop it, which is very controlling. They don’t want their critics dissecting their media, and it’s evident from the jump this is just another one of their many ploys to improve their PR.
Does The Parents Network Actually Help People?
The video is supposed to discuss a conference for the Parent’s Network. But instead of actually attending this s**tty conference, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex sent representatives to the meeting. They don’t bother with involving themselves in the more significant movement.
The other issue is that the Parents Network is not an organization that helps parents or makes a marked difference. Their campaign for “online safety” was created to stroke Meghan’s massive ego.
Harry and Meghan claim that grieving parents can join this network, and the couple will fight for the changes the parents want to see regarding social media. Still, it’s neither genuine nor an effective strategy to make change happen.
The couple seems to discredit the scope of parental control and blame social media companies entirely for online harm. They don’t help empower parents to be self-reflective; they simply scapegoat social media.
Their approach won’t change anything because the social media companies will keep the focus on profits. It’s the nature of the beast.
The video itself is a way to prop Meghan. At the start of the video, Meghan gives Harry a “loving look,” and then he starts talking, which looks like a fake and contrived gesture.
Why is it that Harry tends to always look like an accessory of Meghan’s? Everything appears to be a performance on Meghan’s part and always looks disingenuous.
Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Use Every Tragedy To Boost Their PR
The couple seem to have a lot to say about every tragedy, but instead of using their influence to offer solutions or enact positive change, they use it to boost PR.
Just like Harry and Meghan are using grieving parents who lost their children, the couple endlessly use every tragedy to boost their PR.
The couple even visited a fallen veteran’s gravesite in Los Angeles on Remembrance Day back when they were filming their Netflix documentary for the sole purpose of having their pictures taken.
In the end, they feign care and concern for every tragedy. Their response to online harm and bullying is to claim that social media companies need to change instead of suggesting what we can all do to better the situation.
It takes away from any hard work they would need to do to offer anything of substance that could potentially be helpful to people.
The sad truth is that Parents Network is the opposite of what Prince William does with Earthshot. He has people coming up with viable solutions to help the environment as he publicizes, awards, and funds their contributions.
In contrast, Harry and Meghan are there to promote themselves. They only care about social media harm and online bullying when they can be the center of the issue, and all eyes are on them.
