‘Days of Our Lives’ (DOOL) spoilers confirm the true identity of the mysterious “Fake Abigail” (AnnaLynn McCord). Her real name is Cat Greene. She’s the granddaughter of Konstantin Meleounis (John Kapleos) and the daughter of Catherina.
‘Days Of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Cat Greene’s Backstory Will Be Explained
It was thought that John Black (Drake Hogestyn) killed her. However, because Fake Abby couldn’t keep her identity a secret, and Mark Greene (Jonah Robinson) failed his mission to go to Paris and kill Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn), so Chad’s fortune would be hers. Now, Clyde Weston (James Read) may kill their mother.
Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols) arrived just in time before Mark could pull the trigger. Abigail, of course, stood between Mark and Chad, trying to shield him from the impending bullet.
In a current interview with Soap Opera Digest, AnnaLynn McCord admitted who Fake Abigail is and assures fans that her back story will be explained on Monday, October 21st.
McCord teased that a “powerful,” not-to-miss confrontation takes place. She said that Billy Flynn was flawless in portraying a man who lost his wife, not once, but twice.
He must experience those painful emotions again as he processes the truth that the woman he married isn’t really his beloved Abigail.
“Something magical happens when you work with actors who just show up as Billy does,”
McCord exclaimed.
“He does it with really raw emotion because it’s instinctual in process versus beat for beat,”
She said.
“I was really crying. I mean, like Anna Lynn was crying.”
AnnaLynn wasn’t alone. The crew was clapping after they performed their scenes. Flynn and McCord have a rapport that translates well on-screen, and the scenes are intense.
McCord now gets to add layers to her character and play off Billy in a way she hadn’t been able to until now. Now that the truth is out, it’s a new ball game.
‘Days Of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Chad’s True Love Is Really Gone
The actress explained that now she gets to create the real Cat Greene. She’s not simply playing a part. It will be a challenge for her to elicit empathy from the audience, as what Fake Abigail did to Chad was incredibly cruel, even though it was to save her Mom.
She made him believe his late wife had come back to him. He recited his wedding vows to he, shared his wedding album with her, and let her in as if she were really Abigail. It’s devastating for Chad to feel the pain of realizing his true love is gone.
“Once that big reveal happens and the details start to play out, you do get to really experience Cat and her dynamic with her family and what her siblings mean to her,”
McCord explained.
She also said that her character has a sense of humor, and the viewers will see that. Not that there’s anything funny about the situation, but her personality will become more pronounced, which McCord is looking forward to.
Apparently, there’s a shocking twist to the story that AnnaLynn has been sworn to secrecy not to reveal. However, we are promised that we’ll learn more about the character of Cat Greene, which will be fun.
