Prince Harry and Meghan Markle took a six-week break from their royal engagements and public appearances to recharge their batteries. The couple spent their break in Canada and while there, they apparently made the decision to pull back from their roles with the British monarchy. Apparently, Prince Harry didn’t go over the details with his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, and instead rushed out the announcement to appease his wife, Meghan.

“The statement was rushed out and part of the reason for that is that Harry knew he needed to take swift action,” the source told the Sun. “Meghan has not settled in the UK and he knows that and wants her to be happy. And it got worse recently, with their spell in Canada helping cement her view that the family would be better off out of the spotlight and spending more time there. He feared staying in the UK too long would lead Meghan to have a meltdown. That’s why things moved so quickly.”
Now, what’s going to happen next is anyone’s guess at this point, but royal fans shouldn’t expect to see Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in the same room with the rest of the royals for any holiday gatherings in the near future. It’s been reported that Harry is locked in four-way talks with Queen Elizabeth, Prince Charles and his brother Prince William over their ‘Megxit’ plans.
