Philip Robert “Chance” Chancellor IV, (Donny Boaz), is the son of Nina Webster and Phillip Chancellor III. Years ago, Nina Webster was crushing on her friend’s boyfriend. That man was Phillip Chancellor III. He was also an heir to the Chancellor fortune. One night Nina got Phillip drunk and seduced him. This ended up getting Nina pregnant. Her and Phillip Chancellor III had a son. The family never approved of Nina and went to great lengths to try to get rid of her. This, of course, backfired in their faces.

The evil plots to get rid of Nina ended up killing Phillip Chancellor III in a car accident. Nina was the one who received his fortune. Chance was thought to have died, however in the long storyline on Y & R, miraculously is alive and appears in Genoa City.
Chance and Abby are now involved romantically. Fans are shaking their heads in disbelief because it seems rather fast. Abby has rushed into another relationship. Abby ( Ordway) has not been with someone like Chance (Boaz) before. Abby has a history of dating men who are not so sweet and helpful like Chance ( Donny Boaz) is. Abby ( Melissa Ordway) is known for all of her relationships and how she jumps from man to man very quickly. Not giving herself enough time to put herself back together.
Abby Newman ( Melissa Ordway) is really into how mysterious Chance ( Donny Boaz) is. She is really drawn to him and wants to be with him badly. Is it too soon? One thing for certain, Abby knew Chance ( Boaz) before and he would never even glance her way. She loves the attention from him now. Abby and Chance have some secrets that may cause the relationship to end sooner than later. There may be heartbreak ahead soon. Abby is hopeful though.
