Prince Andrew could be much more dangerous to the royal family if they cast him aside. His legal problems will likely not be resolved any time soon.
Prince Andrew is Still Invited to Royal Family Gatherings
However, King Charles has resolved not to abandon his brother, no matter how despicable he is. Andrew is far worse than Harry and Meghan, but in Charles’s mind, at least Andrew wasn’t disloyal enough to write a tell-all book divulging the royal family’s secrets.
Unquestionably, details about Prince Andrew’s escapades have not all come to light yet. There have been several surprising revelations about the Duke of York’s affiliation with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
In June 2023, email correspondence was presented that suggested that Prince Andrew’s relationship lasted far longer than he initially claimed he stopped communicating with him.
There are, in all likelihood, more shocking revelations to come. People like Prince Andrew will always do stupid things, expecting no consequences.
This thinking is why predators behave the way they do. They do their dirt secretly, believing they won’t get caught, and then they are surprised when stones are thrown at them.
The royal family should heed the old expression, “Keep your friends close, but your enemies closer.” While Andrew is not necessarily the “enemy” of the royal family, he has drawn negative attention, putting the Firm’s reputation at serious risk.
The royals may be playing it smart by allowing Andrew to attend family functions. He still wants to please his family, making him less of a direct threat to the monarchy.
Should Andrew be cast aside, there’s no telling what mess he could make. The King is choosing not to evict Andrew.
There had been some rumors circling that King Charles wanted to give the Royal Lodge to Prince William, but it appears that is not the case.
Frogmore Cottage is Always Available
Royal Lodge requires separate protection from Windsor Palace, which costs more money. Andrew will soon find that he cannot afford it.
With no royal income, he may want to consider moving to Frogmore Cottage, where Harry and Meghan used to live. Queen Elizabeth had been paying for Andrew’s security when she was still alive. She tirelessly protected the Duke of York, and even though he was her son, no matter what, it was probably a mistake.
All that effort may have cost her years of good health. Prince Andrew took advantage of the Queen’s kindness. Even after being forced to step down from his royal duties, he still had grand plans for business ventures.
Not to mention, Queen Elizabeth contributed to paying Prince Andrew’s massive settlement with Virginia Giuffre in the civil sexual assault case. She obviously shouldn’t have done that either.
Andrew made a mockery of the royal family. He has not been a working royal since November 2019. The Queen discontinued his public duties to preserve the integrity of the monarchy.
Andrew’s daughters, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, are probably embarrassed and ashamed of their father.
Prince Andrew is one of those pesky problems that will need to be dealt with sooner or later.
