Flashbacks are one of the significant elements of daytime. Seeing Victor’s approach with Nikki in daytime days gone by was instructive.
However, Braeden’s character took a far harsher approach in earlier days. He was upset that Nikki turned to alcohol and believed she was not strong enough to deal with the problem.
Within the last decade, when Nikki last endured a relapse, Victor responded with greater compassion. Most importantly, he learned a better approach to dealing with his wife’s issue, which remains valid as this new year begins.

Victoria and Cole Howard (J. Eddie Peck) went to Genoa City Memorial Hospital on New Year’s Day. They found their daughter, Eve Nicole, whose name was apparently changed to Claire Grace (Hayley Erin) by Jordan, asleep.
Cole sat with Claire. Moreover, the story he began to tell her was heart-warming. Peck’s character spoke of the anticipation he and Victoria felt before she was born.
Erin is delivering more solid performances. Claire was involved in negative self-talk, believing she is a monster who can not be loved. Indeed, Erin projected emotion without speaking, as a prerecorded voice overlay represented Claire’s perceived destiny.

Stepping back from Newman Enterprises was the best choice to make. While corporate intrigue helped Victoria overcome the Ashland Locke (Robert Newman) catastrophe, work can’t be used now.
Claire needs the full support of her parents in the coming days. However, there is no way to determine how much time it will take for her to gain a sense of normalcy and learn to trust in family.
But Victoria plans to be there for her daughter, as does Cole. Further, Victor also needs to focus on Nikki. That means Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) and Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) must temporarily co-head the family business on Y&R.
