‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers love how there are some people that just can’t stand to leave things be, and every show has at least one.
‘General Hospital’ has a couple, and right now they’re making some waves, but the most entertaining one is Carly Spencer (Laura Wright).
She makes things interesting and we can’t blame her at times, but she loves to just attack and then pretend she didn’t do anything and play the victim.
In this case, she didn’t use the victim card for herself per se, but for Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) for going to prison on her behalf.
Things got a little heated and Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth) was about to tell her off when Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) stopped him, but it got us think about her need to always have conflict.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers – She’s scrappy
Most likely, being so aggressive and fighting for everything is how she survived to be where she is, but she never learned to control it.
She’ll just launch into an attack on a whim and then blame the other person for causing it.
It’s her MO. She did it with Ned when she went up to him to start a fight, and she did it with Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) several times, most notably when Nina called her from Nixon Falls to tell her Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) was there.
For whatever reason, Carly rarely owns up to her actions and never learns from them. It’s what makes her an engaging character since it’s impossible to know when she’s going to snap and go psychotic on someone.
At some point, she may do it one time too many and won’t be able to recover from pushing someone, and maybe that will be what she needs to learn more control.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers – Will she ever change?
The thing is, ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers doubt she’ll ever learn and change, and she’s passed on the trait to her children as Josslyn Jacks (Courtney Fulk) and Michael do the same, though Joss is a mirror image of Carly.
It doesn’t solve anything, but more than her temperament, it feels like lazy writing. Like the show is trying to drum up more tension at the drop of the hat by having her lash out when the whim strikes.
She was so close to moving on and becoming a better person, but for reasons she always gets sucked back into her blind need for conflict and off she goes.
Will Carly ever be able to stop lashing out, or is it a character flaw that’s meant to stay? Let us know in the comments below and check back with ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers for the latest updates, spoilers, and speculation around.
