‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers document that restoring trust can be lengthy. Family grudges often build to a dramatic climax, which is true of the rift between Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) and Devon Hamilton Winters (Bryton James).
Mamie Johnson (Veronica Redd) recently returned to Genoa City, Wisconsin. Tucker McCall (Trevor St. John) was her secret investor, with both characters hoping to push Jill Abbott (Jess Walton) out of Chancellor-Winters.
Part of Mamie’s plan was to heal family problems as well. Devon and Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) were persuaded to give Nate a second chance. However, their awareness of the reason for his termination at Newman Enterprises created a new hurdle.

Devoted viewers recall that a conflict over Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) caused the break. Devon was with Elena, who was drawn to Nate.
Dominic’s character in the plot was a practicing surgeon at that time. Nate and Elena spent long hours at the New Hope clinic that Devon and Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) created. That setting was used by residents who used affordable housing that James and Morrow’s characters funded.
The eventual news of Elena becoming involved with Nate devastated Devon, who was with Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan). Devon punched Nate in the face, and Dominic’s character fell and permanently damaged one of his hands.
‘Young And The Restless’ Spoilers – Leaving Medicine And Entering Business
Genoa City Memorial Hospital later picked Nate to be its Chief of Staff. That appeared to be a way to apply his medical knowledge.
Nate is tired of the shift to the bureaucratic nature of his new position. While it was a prominent management position, he lost interest and left.
Devon, Lily, and Jill welcomed Nate to CW. But he felt repeatedly stymied by Devon, in particular. That led to Nate conspiring with Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) to take over the company. Thankfully, Dominic’s character abandoned that plan and told his cousins about it. He did purposely leave Victoria’s name out.
‘Young And The Restless’ Spoilers – Tucker McCall Can Not Be Trusted
Tucker is a troublemaker. He is trying to entice Nate to join his efforts to take control of Jabot.
Zuleyka’s character, who Nate worked with at CW before she was fired, had liked Nate from when they first met. Audra still has romantic eyes for him and follows Tucker’s orders to bring him aboard their takeover plan.
Hopefully, Nate realizes that relaying Tucker’s plans to the Abbott family is the right choice. Telling Devon about his father’s intentions would also support Nate’s reform claims. He should do that even if Devon and Lily do not rehire him at CW on Y&R.
