Bibi’s mom, Dina, is a strange woman. The vibe is obvious from the first scene. We see Dina arguing with a doctor who can’t understand her daughter’s case. She’s supposed to have a serious ailment, but all the tests he ran say otherwise. When he calls Dina on it, she gets defensive. She even accuses him of trying to feel up her minor daughter. In reality, a chance movement by Bibi revealed strange wrappings he wondered about. This is where things get stranger.
Bibi isn’t a minor as Dina claims. Those wrappings kept her breasts from betraying her actual age. The dynamic is explosive. Dina is angry and controlling, as well as emotionally abusive. She’s furious that Bibi moved her leg when the doctor tested her reflexes. In a brief sign of backbone, Bibi snarks at her that it’s an uncontrollable thing. The episode is both engaging and uncomfortable. This mother is clearly more than a con artist trying to get money. With all the hundreds of ailments she claims Bibi has (and her eating up every bit of praise coming her way), we think this is a Munchausen’s syndrome by proxy situation. But her actions are about to have dire consequences.

As horrible as what happens is, we do feel pity and understanding for Bibi. She’s a 19-year-old healthy woman being forced to play the sick child. She’s subjected to verbal abuse and punishment for stepping out of line, as well as forced to take meds and told constantly how “sick” she is. So it’s no wonder she loses it and fixates on escape by any means.
The tool of this escape is Ignacio, a guy she meets online. Her friend helped her get on a dating site. We honestly don’t know if Bibi is just looking for a guy to take her away, or as manipulative as her mom. What we do know is, she fixates on him being her savior. So much so, she gets him to do something extreme.

This episode left no real winners. It’s a sad look at how abuse can warp a person, as well as how easy it is to fall into family patterns. Her mother conned people and fixated on attention, praise, and money. Bibi fixated on escape by any means possible, so she got Ignacio to kill Dina. This makes Bibi’s new freedom short-lived, as well as her love story with Ignacio.
