‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers have our favorites like any good fans, and over the last few months Gregory Chase (Gregory Harrison) has really carved out a comfortable spot in our heart and we’d love to see him continue on the show.
Unfortunately, the show had given him ALS which has no cure and while that’s the type of story line we’ve come to expect, this one is going to hurt because the writer chose to make him a highly engaging character about the same time.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Gregory and Tracy are the Perfect Couple
While it’s clear they’re following the blueprint that was used when Mike Corbin (Max Gail) was brought into Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard)’s life only to be taken away when the two became close.
‘General Hospital’ is still holding out hope that a fan theory about Gregory being misdiagnosed hold true, though it’s highly unlikely.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Going out with a bang
Losing a character to a disease is never fun for us, but it helps bring focus to that disease and raise awareness and funds for research.
But more than the disease, what’s going to hurt is Gregory has formed some great relationships with Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) and Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot).
While he and Alexis are just good friends, the show has teased that there’s something more growing between him and Tracy.
Tracy is a force of nature, and Gregory has shown he’s a force himself as his quick with and unflinching courage when confronting her has won her over.
Not to mention he’s a killer at Backgammon.
They’re quickly formed a very cool relationship and he’s one of the few people that brings out Tracy’s humanity for us to see and enjoy.
For that, they’re the perfect couple and they’d be so much fun to watch as they continue to grow their relationship over the next few years.
But unfortunately that doesn’t appear to be in the plans.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: All good things…
Gregory has been touching hearts all over Port Charles as well as with fans, and we have no doubt the next few months or even year will be some great emotional drama as his disease continues to worsen as he and Tracy grow closer.
With any luck there will be a breakthrough or Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) or someone will notice something that will mean it’s not ALS and Gregory won’t have to wither away.
It’s a long shot, but one we’d like to see happen to keep him around longer to mine more great moments with Tracy.
