Mark said that becoming an actor almost felt like a natural feeling for him, especially since he would often gravitate towards the stories told on both television shows and the movies. From early on he knew that he was bitten by the acting bug. “When I went to see a movie or watched TV while growing up, something kind of hits you, and makes you feel a certain way. I was like, ‘Man, if I could make someone feel what I just felt, that would be such a cool thing!” he recently told Soaps In Depth in an interview. “The opportunity to do that, and on a different level, to entertain, was such a great thing for me.”

The actor also said that Mark likes to push “emotional buttons” so to speak. One of the biggest reasons why he became an actor is because he likes the fact that his work makes him explore his own psyche in a way that he wouldn’t otherwise have an opportunity to do elsewhere. It’s without a doubt that a lot of ‘Young and the Restless’ fans would agree that he is definitely pushing buttons as Adam, and then som!
“Sometimes acting can be a cathartic thing, an extremely personal thing for someone to go through,” he explained. “It’s like exploring one’s own soul!”
