Rainn Wilson, a star of The Office, has discussed how the violence and trauma he experienced as a youngster led to ongoing mental health issues, which eventually had an impact on his acting career.

The 57-year-old has subsequently stated that he needed 22 years of treatment to repair the harm done to his welfare when he was younger, despite the fact that his innate comic skill helped him become a billionaire sensation.

On the The Diary of A CEO podcast with Steven Bartlett, the actor said, “I experienced a lot of pain in my life, and a lot of suffering with anxiety and depression and addiction. As I dove into recovery and the therapeutic process, I can pin that squarely on a lot of gross imbalances and trauma that I suffered as a child.”

When Rainn was three years old, his father and he impulsively moved to the “jungles of Nicaragua.” They later made a permanent transfer to Washington State in time for Rainn to enter kindergarten.

Wilson said that despite being brought up in the Baha’i faith, which emphasizes the equality and oneness of all people and the existence of a single God, his upbringing was devoid of love and full of “rage” and “gaslighting.”

He said that by the time he was a teenager, he had lost touch with his emotions as a result of his father and stepmother’s inability to manage their own emotions and their failure to pass down this knowledge to him.

Wilson remarked that his father’s horrific childhood experience prevented him from being a father in the way his kid required.

Despite being raised in the Baha’i religious community, which upholds the equality and oneness of all people as well as the existence of a single God, Wilson said that his upbringing was devoid of love and was instead marked by “rage” and “gaslighting.”

Wilson remembered growing up in a ‘loveless shell of a house’ where he experienced ‘plenty of different types of violence’ after his father remarried.
