‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers indicate that there are many lessons to be learned from Curtis Ashford’s (Donnell Turner) current situation. While things will probably turn around for him in the future, it would be good for him to pay attention to the lessons he has the opportunity to learn right now.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: The Danger of Pride
Pride doesn’t always look the same. Right now, Curtis is feeling very discouraged and frustrated at his situation. He was hit by a stray bullet that ricocheted and hit his spine. While he made it through surgery, he is faced with the loss of feeling in his legs. He is not able to walk and may not ever regain the use of his legs.
The situation is bringing up a lot of feelings for him. He is obviously upset and angry that he is even in this position. That is understandable. However, he has to work through that because he can’t go back and change the past.
He has to deal with the hand he has been dealt. He also has been some experiencing some self-pity, upset that this has happened to him.
The other part that he is dealing with is pride. Pride makes it hard to accept help from others. Curtis doesn’t want Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) to have to spend the rest of her life helping him. He doesn’t want Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) to be the one caring for her father. He believes the father should care for his daughter.
That pride is selfish. He has to learn how to accept help and allow Portia and Trina to share their love for him by serving. It is hard to accept help because we have to humble ourselves. Will Curtis be able to do that?
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Live Without Regret
The situation that Curtis is in also reminds fans to live without regret. We can’t take our lives for granted. We only have a limited amount of time, and we need to make good use of it.
Trina Robinson alludes to this when she apologizes to Curtis for shutting him out. Curtis kissed Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper) while he was separated from Portia. Trina got upset when she learned about this. She gave him the cold shoulder, taking her Mom’s side.
While Curtis may have done something wrong, it wasn’t Trina’s place to punish him. She lost valuable moments of connection with him. It is important to not hold grudges and to forgive easily. That way we can keep connecting with others and not waste the moments we have for loving.
