A woman from North Carolina has initiated a legal case against the medical team responsible for administering testosterone to her at the age of 17 and performing a breast removal surgery the following year. She alleges that she was hurried into transgender care for financial reasons, despite requiring therapy instead.

Prisha Mosley, now 25, recounts being in a state of confusion and dealing with mental health challenges when clinicians swiftly proposed cross-sex hormones and a double mastectomy during brief consultations.

In her detailed 53-page complaint, she accuses her doctors of deceit, claiming that they falsely asserted that testosterone injections would resolve her issues and lead to the development of male genitalia.

Consequently, she has made the decision to “detransition” and live as a woman, seeking compensation for the lasting physical and emotional scars inflicted by the treatments.

These enduring effects include a deeper voice, body and facial hair growth, neck and shoulder discomfort, damage to her reproductive organs, the inability to breastfeed, and potential infertility.

Joining the growing number of individuals detransitioning, she has taken legal action against her doctors.

These lawsuits hold the potential to significantly impact the contentious debate surrounding transgender rights and medical procedures, particularly in relation to children.

Notably, a recent YouGov survey involving 1,000 adults across different states found that a majority of Americans, irrespective of their political affiliations, oppose gender-affirming procedures for children.

The survey revealed that 61 percent of respondents disagreed with administering puberty blockers to 12-year-olds, while only 21 percent found it acceptable. Similarly, cross-sex hormones and breast surgeries were deemed unacceptable by comparable margins.

What do you think? Can you believe this story and should these be allowed on children under 18? Are you surprised by the survey of 1,000 people? Let us know in the comments below.
