‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) has had enough of being hurt by his wife, Summer Newman (Allison Lanier). He has seen what she is really like and is no longer going to do what she asks. He is going to do what is right, even if it causes her pain.
‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Kyle Learns the Truth
It has taken a while for the truth to come out, but finally Summer confessed. Kyle put the pieces together and realized that she knew Y&R’s Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) was alive before her brother Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei) knew. She also kept it secret from Kyle.
Summer has been concerned with keeping her mother out of jail. Her mother faked her death and framed Kyle’s mother, Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters). Phyllis worked with Jeremy Stark (James Hyde) to implement this scheme.
When Phyllis decided she no longer wanted to stay away from her kids and wanted to go admit it all, Stark knew she would pin it on her. He tried to kill her but she fought back and killed him. However, she didn’t call the police right away, but hid his body. Now she will have a hard time proving it was self-defense.
Summer learned all of this but kept it from Kyle. Because of her, Diane spent all of this time in jail. Summer deprived Kyle of his mother, Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) from his fiancé, and Harrison from his grandmother. She did all of this to try to protect her own mother.
‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Kyle Strikes Back
Kyle is angry and hurt but he still loves Summer. He grudgingly agrees to keep Phyllis’ location a secret after he sees her for himself in a suite at the Athletic Club. He does point out that they are all accessories and need to tell the authorities. But he is willing to give them a bit more time because he sees how important it is to Summer.
After getting home though, he realizes how long Summer has known about this and how much she has done to willfully hurt him.
He talks this over with Y&R’s Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) who tells him that she has never trusted Summer. When Mariah helps him see what Summer has done to him, he finds Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) and tells him where to find Phyllis.
