‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers reveals that Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei) is making a move to try to put things right his way. He has decided he has to take action and share some of the truth. Will it help or make things worse?

Daniel learned from his sister, Summer Newman (Allison Lainer) that their mother, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) is still alive. She won’t let him tell anyone because their mother is in a lot of trouble.
Phyllis faked her own death with the help of Jeremy Stark (James Hyde) in order to frame Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters). That went well for them, but then Phyllis couldn’t handle being “dead”. She couldn’t stand to be separated from her kids, so she decided to blow the whole thing open.
Stark was furious so he tried to kill her (since everyone though she was already dead). She ended up fighting back and killed him with scissors. Instead of calling the police and claiming self-defense, she dumped the body. Now she is in hiding, but she did meet with Summer.
Summer had to tell someone, so she chose to tell her grieving brother. Daniel believes they can’t keep it secret because it is hurting so many people.
Diane is facing charges for a crime she did not commit and that is hurting Diane’s son Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) who is Summer’s husband. Daniel wants to tell the truth, but Summer demands more time to help come up with a solution for Phyllis.

Without Summer’s input, Daniel decides to tell Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman), Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) and Kyle the story. He lies though. He leaves Summer out of it and tells them that he saw his mother. His idea is to try to save Summer and to help protect her marriage to Kyle.
Everyone is excited at first to think this could be an “out” for Diane, but Baldwin quickly douses their enthusiasm. They don’t have any evidence. The evidence they need it Phyllis coming back to town. Without physical evidence they have nothing to go on. This is far from over.
