‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers indicates that Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) understands his sister Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) a little too well. She isn’t happy that he has seen through her.

Since Jack and Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) announced their engagement, Ashley has been really upset. She believes Diane is manipulative and conniving and she doesn’t believe her brother should be giving her another chance.
Diane broke Jack’s heart and messed up her son Kyle Abbott’s (Michael Mealor) life too. Ashley thinks that Jack’s interest in Diane is unconscionable.
Jack is willing to give Diane a chance. He does believe she has changed. He sees a wonderful future with her. But their plans were wrecked when Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) and Jeremy Stark (James Hyde) were able to fake Phyllis’ death and blame it all on Diane.
Diane went to jail and there is a lot of evidence against her.
Diane’s incarceration gave Ashley breathing space. She was thankful that Diane was gone and was hopeful that her brother would drop his relationship for good.
She is shocked and furious when she comes home to find Diane released on bail. Ashly erupts, giving Jack a sound verbal lashing. Ever since she has been like a taut wire of angry energy.
‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Heart of the Matter
Any time Jack and Ashley are together they fight. It is tense and uncomfortable at home. They cross paths at the office and agree to try to have a more civil discussion about the situation.
As tempers flare yet again, Jack makes an interesting observation. He tells Ashley that he knows why she is so upset about his relationship with Diane.
Jack contends that Ashley is distraught about her own feelings for Tucker McCall (Trevor St. John). She is finding out that she has feelings for him and is struggling to give him another chance.
She sees that Jack is giving Diane another chance and she feels discomfort about her own relationship with Tucker.
Ashley did say she was inviting Tucker to move in order to disturb Jack and try to get him to see the folly of his own relationship. But, in actuality, Jack and Diane’s relationship is a mirror to her own life and her uncertainty about giving Tucker a second chance.
Jack has been able to open his heart and risk pain, but Ashley just can’t get herself there. He thinks that is why she is so volatile.
