‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Summer Newman (Allison Lanier) can’t take the pressure anymore. She has to share her secret and find support.
‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Heavy Secret
Summer Newman got a surprise and shocking visit from her mother, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford). Summer believed that her mother was dead and that her mother-in-law, Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) murdered her. Seeing her mother in the flesh, turns all that she believes upside down.
This joy is short-lived when she learns that she is not able to celebrate and tell the world that her mother is alive. Her mother killed Jeremy Stark (James Hyde) in self-defense because he was going to kill her. She refused to leave town and was threatening to expose his involvement in framing Diane.
Phyllis tells Summer she can’t tell anyone she is alive, and she can’t tell anyone about her involvement in Stark’s death. She has to remain quiet until Phyllis can figure out how to set this all up so that she does not go to jail.
Phyllis is afraid that she’ll be arrested as soon as she shows her face. Summer doesn’t want that. She doesn’t want to lose her mother again.
‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Broken Promise
Summer is distraught when Phyllis leaves her in the park. Right after they talk, Summer’s brother Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei) comes by.
He talks with Summer, who babbles on about their mother being alive. Daniel thinks she is just seeing things due to her incredible grief. Daniel just thinks Summer needs a lot of care and support to get through this death.
He brushes her claims off as a by-product of her grief. Daniel does feel worried about Summer and concerned that this grief is making her go a little crazy. He goes to find her and check up on her.
When he talks with her again, he catches her saying some things that don’t add up. For example, the news about Stark’s death just hit the papers. How did Summer know about it the night before?
Then Summer mentions that Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) won’t give her any details on Stark’s murder. She mentions the murder weapon, and no one has that information except her.
Daniel has caught her out and she can’t really explain herself. Daniel worries that Summer is the one who killed Stark. She decides she has to tell him the truth yet again. Summer can’t carry this burdensome secret on her own anymore.
She needs help to decide how to handle things. It is too stressful for her. She tells Daniel the truth again. Will Daniel believe her? Will he decide to have Summer committed or will he believe because of the details she knows? What do you think?
