‘Days Of Our Lives’ (DOOL) spoilers show that the legendary Dick Van Dyke will be making his soap opera debut this fall when he appears on DOOL in a guest-star role!
Access Hollywood interviewed Van Dyke and confirmed that he was indeed cast on the show! DOOL has been keeping the news under wraps, and it turns out that there is more than just keeping the surprise!
Van Dyke will be joining the show as a mystery man who will be suffering from amnesia and there will be plenty of gaps that need to be filled it will be interesting to follow along with the story and see where he fits in with the storylines.
Is he already someone we’ve met decades before or is this a brand new character that just happens to have some kind of connection to someone in town?

Theories suggest that Dr. Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) could be the one that helps him as she is trained in hypnosis and other ways of bringing the truth and memories back to the surface.
While Van Dyke’s character may accept the help, it seems like he may be a bit of a difficult patient. Marlena will struggle to reach through to him and it will leave him frustrated.
He may need to recall something in particular that means life or death or something that could help bring the man closure. Either way, Marlena is going to need some help and may turn to her husband for assistance.
Amnesia was a big part of John Black’s (Drake Hogestyn) story, so he may be able to help on a more personal and understanding level.
Of course, Van Dyke is beloved and has decades of roles and memorable movies under his belt. There is no doubt that he is going to put 100% into this role and the 97-year-old hasn’t lost a step in his age. We look forward to seeing him on the show!
