This week, Bliss made the prognosis public, stating that a biopsy of a spot on her face that had “gotten worse” found basal cell carcinoma.
Just so you know, the Skin Care Foundation estimates that 3.6 million new cases of basal cell carcinoma are identified each year. According to SCF, cancer is curable if it is found and handled quickly.

The cancer was then removed, according to Bliss, in a “quick and easy procedure” According to Mayo Clinic, Alexa claims that doctors also found squamous cells, another type of carcinoma that is frequently caused by excessive UV radiation.
