WWE SmackDown took place last night, and there were no shortage of talking points from the show, as the Clash of Champions pay-per-view gets closer. There was an intriguing two hours of action, which built up some of the biggest matches that will be taking place during the event this Sunday. But, which superstars will be going into their respective matches with the momentum following SmackDown this week?
WWE News: Reigns Delivers Message
The WWE Universal title match remains the most interesting storyline on SmackDown, as Roman Reigns and Jey Uso will battle for the gold at this weekend’s event. The two of them continued their feud last night, as Reigns delivered a brutal message to Uso. Reigns told Uso that he doesn’t understand the weight of the title and that he wouldn’t know what to do if he were champion.
The current champion admitted that this is the reason why he is head of the table. However, Reigns didn’t stop with just words. He attacked Uso as he headed towards the back, which brought a close to one of the most entertaining segments that we have seen in the WWE for the past couple of years. It’s fair to say that there has never been more interest in Reigns, and this match will be an excellent starting point for his title reign.
WWE News: Bliss Connection With The Fiend Continues
There was also an interesting match earlier in the evening as Alexa Bliss and Lacey Evans clashed. However, the match had a surprising ending, as Bliss ended up beating down Evans so bad that the referee had to call for the bell. The change in Bliss occurred after the lights went out during the match and The Fiend’s music began to play. However, Bliss wasn’t done after the beatdown as she also delivered a Sister Abigail to Evans before heading towards the back.
WWE News: Other SmackDown Matches
The Intercontinental Championship feud between AJ Styles, Sami Zayn and Jeff Hardy continued on SmackDown, as it was revealed that their match this Sunday will be for the undisputed Intercontinental championship. Elsewhere, King Corbin beat Matt Riddle after hitting the End of Days, while Shinsuke Nakamura beat Gran Metalik ahead of the tag team championship match this weekend. Bayley also cut a promo during the show to build her match up against Nikki Cross this weekend.
