Tilda Swinton, a famous British actress, has made it clear that she won’t wear a mask while filming her new project, even though the request has been made.
Tilda Swinton Refuses To Comply With Mask Mandates-‘I’m Super Healthy’
The issue of mask mandates has always been divisive. The split between those favoring freedom of choice has had to be balanced against those who favor imposing the mandates in favor of greater protection.
Regardless of which side of the fence you stand on, Tilda made it clear in no uncertain terms that she was going to be put off by what others had to say.
In her comments, she said: “I’m actually just about to start shooting a picture in Ireland. And I was told, full disclosure, and I’m sure this is being recorded.
“People in Ireland might hear it – to wear a mask at all times. And I’m not wearing a mask because I’m super healthy.”
Nevertheless, this has been an issue when it comes to other actors. Tom Cruise was an example of this very point. During the filming of Mission: Impossible 7, Cruise became angry with the crew due to their failure to follow social distancing protocols.
These protocols were implemented to ensure the safe production of one of the first big-budget films to resume filming during the pandemic.
Cruise directed a strong outburst towards the crew as a result of their lapses. He warned the crew that they would lose their jobs if they repeat the unacceptable behavior.
He expressed his emotions while delivering the message and highlighted the impact of the industry’s current state on people’s lives, including the shutdown of most of the industry and the resulting loss of homes.
And yet, Tilda had a different approach on the matter. Her following comments confirmed as much: “I’ve had COVID so many times and I’m so full of antibodies … and I have faith.”
The social media response was in favor of what Tilda had to say. A certain subset of people were of the view that each person had the right to decide what was best for their health.
And in the process, they lauded her speaking out. One person wrote: “Great to see an actor speaking out against the insanity. Very few of them did.”
