Jena Malone, of the “Hunger Games” series, recently made a statement about being sexually assaulted while shooting the last movie of the franchise, “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2”.
Hunger Games Star Jena Malone Recalls Being Sexually Assaulted-‘Such A Traumatic Event’
On Tuesday, 28th February 2023, she went to Instagram to express her harrowing experience. In a post to her fans, she shared a picture of herself in a field full of barley following filming, as she stared into the distance.
The post was captioned by the following comments: “Even tho this time in Paris was extremely hard for me, was going thru a bad break up and also was sexually assaulted by someone I had worked with. I was so full of gratitude for this project…I wish it wasn’t tied to such a traumatic event.”
Malone openly discussed her healing process following the traumatic events. She expressed her gratitude for getting the chance to star in the 2015 movie, even though the circumstances were difficult.
She did not name the person she claims to have sexually assaulted her. Additionally, she sent encouragement to anyone who has gone through a similar experience, and offered her assistance. Her following comments confirmed as much: “Lots of love to you survivors out there. The process is so slow and nonlinear.
“I want to say I’m here for anyone who needs to talk or vent or open uncommunicated spaces within themselves. Please dm me if you need a safe space to be heard.”
The fans on social media came out in droves in order to send Jena some warm words. And in the process, they lauded her since her story served as an example to others that it was possible to overcome anything. One person wrote: “Fellow survivor here ~ love and gratitude to you as you hold the complexity.”
