With a church that remarkably resembles the one that cinematographer Halyna Hutchins shot in, the “Rust” production business has relocated outside of New Mexico.

A representative for Rust Movie Productions says the new background will be shot at Yellowstone Film Ranch in Montana, and they are committed to upholding Halyna’s original vision. The ranch’s managers are reportedly proud to “carry forward her inspiring legacy.” Joel Souza, the director who was also injured in the tragic event, says he is “deeply grateful” for the invitation to film at the ranch and considers it a privilege to collaborate with people of this caliber.

According to sources familiar with the production schedule, starting in either March or April has been considered. It’s noteworthy how similar the church set is to the real one in New Mexico; this was probably done to avoid having to go back and reshoot sequences, but it’s kind of creepy nonetheless.

Involuntary manslaughter charges were brought against Alec last month for the death of Halnya during the 2021 filming of the western movie. The Santa Fe County D.A. dismissed the gun enhancement charge against Alec earlier this week, which means he might not serve any prison time if found guilty as opposed to a mandatory minimum of 5 years if the enhancement charge had been upheld.

It is a bit odd that they would want to continue the production on this film. Especially after all the violations that occurred the first time around, and Baldwin’s mishandling of a firearm! Do they really feel like they can go through with this?
