It looks like Mikayla Nogeira may be accused of crying wolf when it comes to reviewing products yet again. We all know about lash gate and how she was accused of wearing falsies in the video when she reviewed L’Oreal’s telescopic lift mascara, which she denied in the comments but never really addressed the situation. Now she has reviewed the Maybelline’s Super Stay up to 24 hour Hybrid Powder foundation.
On the video, she had the “Maybelline Partner” tag hidden so that it was behind her username, so that no one could really tell that it was an ad at first. In order to see that, one has to actually download the video off of tiktok. If that wasn’t enough, she didn’t have the Paid Partnership tag on the video until the video had gotten a good many views and people kept calling her out about it.
Did Mikayla Nogeira cry wolf AGAIN?
Now down to the actual review. From Mikayla’s review, one would think that the product in question could rival any expensive foundation. In the video it appears to cover every blemish on Mikayla, and then some, because when she uses it on alf of her face, her face turns a completely different color!
It appears to wipe away every flaw on her face. But this is a drugstore foundation and we all know that, as good as Maybelline products are they are noton the same level as say, Kat Von D, or Cover FX, basically some of the more professional level, highly photogenic makeup that actual makeup artists use. So when people started buying the foundation and reviewing it, the results were… not like Mikayla at all.
Even other influencers were not having the same results as Mikayla, it would seem that Mikayla is the one one who got these flawless results because the other influencers said that it didn’t really cover up redness or blemishes all that well. But what did we expect from a drugstore foundation?
However one commenter said that they felt like they wasted $16 on a foundation that didn’t work like Mikayla said it would. Back in the day, influencers used to get cancelled for even taking sponsorships, it would seem that on tiktok that particular problem isn’t so bad… but now that Mikayla has started lying about her product reviews, are we going to see a return to that? Stay tuned!!!
