Chris Noth, a former actor from the show Sex And The City, became a target of mockery on the internet when people found out that he had used his fame to advertise a card game app.

After five women publicly accused him of sexual assault in 2021, he has kept a low profile. He refuted the allegations and declared that things were consensual. In response to the claims, HBO removed him from the Sex And The City reboot, And Just Like That…, while Peloton, a fitness brand, removed him from their promo.

And things have not gotten any better since then. In a video posted to Instagram by the Gin Rummy Stars, the 68-year-old actor shared his endorsement of the game, stating that it has the potential to enhance cognitive abilities and can be played at no cost.

He could be heard saying the following comments: “I like to kick back and play Gin Rummy Stars. And it improves your noggin. It approves your brain skills. After just 10 minutes I already feel better and smarter. And the best part, it’s totally free…I’m not kidding, you’re gonna be a genius after you play this.”

The app is available for download without payment, and those playing the game have the chance to win a virtual grand prize.  However, they also have the option to buy coins, with 500,000 coins being available for a price tag of $99.99, while less significant amounts can be purchased for as low as $4.99.

Rather than paying attention to the technicalities of the game, fans were more distressed by Noth’s decision to promote the app. And this was reflected in the comments that followed on social media. One person wrote: “Seems like the a fine way for a career to end,” while another person stated: “Mr. Big from Sex And The City is selling video games.”
