After the scandal involving accusations of sexual misconduct, Armie Hammer has finally spoken out in a recently-conducted interview, acknowledging that the backlash was so severe that he considered taking his own life.

Hammer, who is the father of two kids, has been scrutinised by the Los Angeles Police Department after a female named Effie accused him of rape. Complaints started to surface in January 2021 from many women who then accused him of sexual abuse, revealing his claimed desire for cannibalism and BDSM-themed activities.
With that being said, this all got too overwhelming for him. In his comments to Air Mail, he said: “I just walked out into the ocean and swam out as far as I could and hoped that either I drowned, or was hit by a boat, or eaten by a shark.
“Then I realised that my kids were still on shore, and that I couldn’t do that to my kids.” Despite his denials of the claims levelled against him, Armie confessed to his former partners that he had been emotionally abusive.
Hammer went on to say that when he was 13, he had been the victim of sexual abuse by a church youth leader, and that this horrific episode had possibly been responsible for the perverse thoughts he had. That does not mean that his conduct was justified, but rather, it provides some much-needed context.
His following comments confirmed as much: “I was powerless in the situation. I had no agency in the situation. Sexuality was introduced to me in a scary way where I had no control. My interests then went to: I want to have control in the situation, sexually.”
The fans on social media were very critical of Armie. This was on the basis that his comments were designed to save face. One person wrote: “In other words, he’s sorry but it’s not really his fault. The concept of personal responsibility eludes the arrogant.”
