The Ring of Honor professional wrestler Jay Briscoe has passed away. Only 38 years old, he. Tony Khan, the owner of AEW and the man who bought the Ring of Honor campaign last March, posted the depressing information on social media saying, “Sadly, Jamin Pugh has passed away. Known to fans as Jay Briscoe, he was a star in ROH for over 20 years, from the first show until today. Jay and his brother Mark dominated ROH, reigning as champions to this day. We’ll do whatever we can to support his family. Rest In Peace Jamin.”
In 2002, Jay, whose true name is Jamin “Jay” Pugh, joined ROH. He later teamed up with his brother Mark to form one of the best tag teams in pro wrestling history. Under the name “The Briscoe Brothers,” Jay and Mark competed as a tag team, but Jay also had success in the singles division, winning the Ring of Honor world championship twice. The veteran wrestler was reportedly involved in a car accident in Delaware, according to pro wrestling expert Dave Meltzer.

Ring Of Honor Pro Wrestler Jay Briscoe Dies At 38 In Car Accident
The first class of the Ring of Honor Hall of Fame, which included Jay and Mark, was honored last year. Contemporaries of Jay in the wrestling industry have already started their condolences for the unfortunate passing. Fans commented on the news saying, “My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.”, “I will have to gather my thoughts to say more later. This is crushing.”, “The Briscoes were one of the greatest throwback tag teams of this era. They would have been stars in the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s and so on. What a sad loss.” and even WWE CCO Triple H wrote “An incredible performer who created a deep connection with wrestling fans across the globe. My condolences to the family and friends of Jay Briscoe.”
