The 36-year-old former professional kickboxer, alongside his brother Tristan Tate, were apprehended in Romania as part of a probe into human trafficking and rape. According to Eugen Vidineac, attorney for the Tate brothers, it took them a while to comprehend the rationale behind their detainment.

This comes amid Romanian officials having captured numerous cars belonging to the brothers. The siblings are intending to contest the confiscation of their possessions. Moreover, Vidineac confirmed that the defence was not granted the chance to analyse the proof collected by the prosecution.

In his comments, Eugen said: “I would like to point out, at least from this point of view, I am also somehow amazed, there is not a single piece of evidence apart from the victim’s statement that leads to the idea that a crime of rape was committed.”

As of today, Tuesday, 10th January 2023, Andrew and Tristan will appear before the court and plead for their release from custody in Romania. He is expected to put forth the argument that there is no substantial proof against them and that appropriate legal procedures have not been adhered to.

The response on social media was mixed. A certain subset of people demanded that the two brothers be given the highest possible punishment. Meanwhile, others longed to see the two brothers being released.

One person wrote: “I hope they keep them both locked up and put them with the other prisoners. They will get what they deserve,” while another person stated: “Free TopG.”

The only thing left to do is let the authorities investigate the matter and come to a conclusion based on the evidence. Time will tell how this will all play out moving forward. So there you have it folks.
