Romanian police apprehended Andrew Tate, a widely known 36-year-old social media figure, and his brother Tristan Tate in their deluxe abode.

The two were held by the authorities, as part of an investigation into allegations of rape, human trafficking, and organised crime. Searches of the residence and other properties near Bucharest were carried out.
Prosecutors declared that the two brothers may be implicated in a purported criminal operation that allegedly victimised a minimum of six women, who were lured, given shelter and compelled to make porn clips that were put up for sale on the internet.
The country’s organised crime and terrorism unit will be interrogating Tate and his sibling as part of the investigation into purported sexual offences and human smuggling violations.
In an official statement on behalf of the brothers, a representative said the following: “We cannot provide any details at the moment regarding alleged reports that they have been detained.
“However, Andrew and Tristan Tate have the utmost respect for the Romanian authorities and will always assist and help in any way they can.” In addition to this, the residence of a former Romanian policewoman was searched according to news reports, and she was apprehended in order to be interrogated as part of the investigation.
It is not surprising, then, that the fans on social media had a lot to say about this. A certain subset of people were of the view that the charges had no merit and were in response to the increasing influence that Tate was having. Meanwhile, others made it clear that this proved the Tate brothers were nothing more than misogynistic men.
One person wrote: “To me he comes across as a most unpleasant man and some of his views are pretty awful. However that in itself is not cause to cancel him.
“As for this issue some of us in the West still believe innocent until proven guilty, but it does feel.like we are a diminishing group, quite a frightening thought.”
