Allison Mack, known for her role in the series “Smallville,” initially became embroiled in the notorious NXIVM cult because she had faith that Keith Raniere, one of the founders, could assist her in having a successful acting career.
Allison Mack Joined Keith Raniere’s NXIVM Sex Cult To Boost Her Acting Career
In 1998, Raniere, and Nancy Salzman set up NXIVM; a personal development business that provided “Executive Success Programs” and various methods that claimed to help individuals to better themselves, with an emphasis on helping people experience more pleasure in their lives.
Nevertheless, the business encountered critical problems when ex-associates declared that they had been instructed in a perverted sex-slave sect, in which females were marked with Raniere’s initials and coerced into having intercourse with him.
But through it all, Mack had visions of being a successful actress. In some prior comments, Mack remarked: “I moved to Albany (NXIVM headquarters) to fill that emptiness and find the soul of myself again, if that makes sense, as it had fizzled.
“I asked Keith if he would help me become a great actress again because I felt like I was a fraud.” In 2019, a court found Raniere guilty and gave him a punishment of 120 years in prison.
In 2021, Mack, aged 40, admitted to the accusations of using her influence to make women into sex slaves of Raniere and was consequently given a three year jail sentence. The fans on social media did not hold back on what they thought about Mack. A significant portion of people felt she had no one to blame but herself.
And in the process, the comments towards her were very brutal indeed. One person wrote: “She conned herself into becoming a criminal. She was a decent actress; when she gets out, I suspect she will not be in any sort of demand by main stream film makers. Or any other normal employers.”
