Elon Musk has declared he will resign from his position as Twitter’s head honcho/CEO following the results of the survey he started, which ended up being a fiasco.

Elon Musk Will Resign As Twitter CEO After Losing His Own Poll

The 51-year-old electric car magnate declared he would abide by the outcome of the survey, no matter what it was, with the poll results damning. The results were announced on Monday, 19th December 2022, with 57.5% of the over 17 million accounts that voted wanting him to resign from his role.

On the other hand, 42.5% of the votes were in favour of him staying on as the website’s leader, equating to nearly 7.5 million customers. And once the results were in, this is what Elon had to say: “I will resign as CEO as soon as I find someone foolish enough to take the job!

“After that, I will just run the software & servers teams.” This does raise questions concerning the future of the platform. Following Musk’s takeover, he vowed to help increase freedom of speech.

While the poll has actually gone some way to doing that, in as much as Elon will go through with the results of the poll, there are concerns over who will take over. Snoop Dogg humorously ran a survey of his own, inquiring of his supporters if he should supplant Musk. 81.8 percent of the people in his poll gave an affirmative response.

The fans on social media questioned the findings of Elon’s poll. This was on the basis that some felt Elon was not disappointed to be stepping down since he would still have a massive influence behind the scenes.

One person wrote: “Run the software and services teams’. So what else is there to manage of any importance at a software services firm?! Not really stepping down at all.” Time will tell if this does end up being a shrewd move by Elon.
