‘The Young And The Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers show that Y&R has a knack for bringing in interesting characters, only to waste them or throw them away in a boring storyline. They brought in the terrifying Ashland Locke (originally Richard Burgi) and he quickly became a dark force to our main characters. There was something about him that was mysterious and scary.

However, his role may have played on a bit too long, and was even replaced with Robert Newman, where he became a different kind of person, one who was less calculating and more of a modern day gangster. Then, he was killed off in such a silly way, and Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) even moved his body to make it look like he was in a car accident to make things worse. Of course, nothing ever came of this.

‘The Young And The Restless’ Spoilers: Who Is The Better Villain: Ashland Locke (Robert Newman) Or Jeremy Stark (James Hyde)?

Now, we have a very similar style of character here with Jeremy Stark (James Hyde). A tall, brooding man with a mysterious past and a haunting demeanor. I worry now though that they will make him into a laughing stock and a lovesick puppy dog as they did with Ashland.

I think Jeremy Stark could be one of the darkest, scarist villains in recent memory, so long as they don’t ruin him with cheap jokes and silly romantic interests. That means they need to keep Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) far away!

However, the person who most people think could be an issue is Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford), who is normally attracted to these kind of characters and some are even thinking they would make a good power couple. Please, I beg, do not ruin another great villain with a lame romantic encounter!

At the moment, I think Stark is definitely primed to be the better villain. He has the haunting past, dark connections with characters now and you’re not quite sure what he is up to. Don’t drop the ball on this guys!

What do you think? Should Phyllis have kept her mouth closed and will something happen to Summer, Kyle, or Harrison as a result of her actions? How will everyone react when they find out what happened? Let us know in the comments below.

We also cover ‘Young and the Restless’ weekdays on the CBS network. Check your local listings for times.
