A teacher in Melbourne was sentenced to prison after he tricked underage school children into sending him indecent images.

At the age of 25, the man who was not named, was purposely seeking out minors he knew and other people on the web, pretending to be a 14-year-old female in order to get child exploitation content. He was employed as an educator at an elementary school and his students were aged between 11 and 16.
The man established a friendship with them through Instagram, pretending to be someone else, a female by the name of Matilda. Thereafter, it is alleged that he would share pictures of young girls who were nude, so that they would do the same.
He apparently extracted images from a young man’s Instagram profile and the school’s computer network and utilized them to generate inappropriate material featuring him.
Moreover, he allegedly constructed photo and video montages of other victims. The teacher accepted culpability for 17 counts of wrongdoing, including sending, owning and asking for child abuse material. He was given a four-year prison term.
However, the defendant may be eligible for parole provided that he has served at least 20 months of his sentence. Specialists discovered that the man displayed indications of sexual attraction to both pre-adolescents and adolescents.
Meanwhile, the judge responsible determined that he was secluded, nervous, and uncomfortable. The response on social media was very clear. A significant proportion of people demanded that the highest possible punishment be given out in order to prevent anything like this from happening again.
And in the process of doing so, the comments towards the defendant were very derogatory. One person wrote: “Disgraceful. We need to get tough on these paedophiles. 2 years is a pathetic joke. Once again, the judicial system fails the victims.”
