It has been nine months since Elisabeth Finch, a former “Grey’s Anatomy” writer and consulting producer, resigned from the show and she has since confessed to inventing stories regarding her medical and private life.

The ex-writer of the program divulged that she had never suffered from cancer after declaring she had chondrosarcoma, an uncommon kind of bone cancer. Finch asserted that her cancer caused her to have a partial amputation of her leg and the loss of a kidney.
Additionally, she shared with her former co-workers that her chemotherapy regimen necessitated her to have an abortion. With that being said, Finch admitted that she had made massive mistakes.
In her comments, she said: “[It] was the biggest mistake of my life. What I did was wrong. Not okay. F—ed up. All the words.” Despite this being the case, that was not the only source of controversy.
Finch confessed that she was untruthful regarding her elder sibling, Eric’s, passing away when working on the much-praised series. She went so far as to state that he had committed suicide. And yet, it appears as though he is a professional pediatrician who is working in Florida, according to WebMD.
But for all her words of remorse, it still does not come across well for Finch. She stated: “I know it’s absolutely wrong what I did. I lied and there’s no excuse for it. But there’s context for it.
“The best way I can explain it is when you experience a level of trauma, a lot of people adopt a maladaptive coping mechanism…That was my coping.”
The social media response was one of outrage. A significant proportion of people could not look past the fact that Finch had made up these claims. One person wrote: “Read it. Still lying. Sad.”
