Ted Cruz has often been lambasted in the news for the things he has done or said, but now it seems that the pressure has gotten to his 14 year old daughter, Caroline, and she has attempted suicide. According to sources she is “doing okay and getting help” but even the worst Cruz critics among us cringe in sympathy for her.
For anyone to be driven to not want to live anymore is terrible, even when they’re an adult don’t have a public family life. However, Cruz’s daughter is only 14, she is, in a lot of ways, just beginning her life, she should want to live. While it’s not wise to lay blame in cases like this, one does wonder if the price of her Dad’s public office got to be too much for the young girl.
Ted Cruz’s daughter attempts suicide
It wouldn’t be the first time that Cruz’s parenting has been called into question, a few years ago when there was a horrific snowstorm in Texas that left lots of people without power and caused some people to lose their lives, Cruz, along with his family (minus the dog) was caught jetting off to Cancun while his constituents froze in their homes and had to burn their own furniture because they were so cold.
Did Cruz take responsibility for that trip? No, he blamed his daughters for wanting to go to Mexico and leave Texas during the snowstorm.
Not long after that, Caroline came out as bisexual, saying that she disagreed with her Father’s views on LGBT and it only makes sense that she would. One wonders if this disagreement had anything to do with the sudden turn in her mental health.
The holidays are hard for so many in the LGBT community, especially when their families don’t accept them, we hope that that was not the case with Cruz’s daughter. In the past he has said that he would vote against a bill of rights protecting same sex marriages, and is not a fan of pride parades. We can only imagine how that has made his daughter feel in the past. We wish her the best, and truly do hope that she is getting the support she needs. Stay tuned.
