Ted Cruz Dodges Hard-Hitting “Why” Question of International Reporters On Uvalde Texas School Shooting, Leaves Scene

When tragedies like the one in Uvalde, Texas happen, we often wonder why, why is it that 19 families won’t ever see their loved ones again? A reporter from the UK’s Sky News asked Senator Ted Cruz this exact question, only, he added what we were all thinking, “Why is it that this only happens in your country?” to which Ted Cruz replied, “It’s easy to politicize the issue.

That’s where the democrats and the media’s mind goes.” to which the reporter pointed out, “That’s where everyone’s mind is going.” and indeed it is, Cruz said that “The legislature the democrats have would not have prevented this.” but how do we actually know because the plans have been stalled for so long? Another reporter came up and asked Cruz again, “Why is it that this only happens in your country?” and asked why American Exceptionalism is so awful.

Cruz, who began to tuck tail and run said, “I”m sorry you think American Exceptionalism is so awful.” and proceeded to accuse the reporter of having a ‘political agenda’ right before ducking and practically running away from reporters. We’re disappointed, but not really surprised, after all this is the same senator who, while his native Texans froze to death he was headed down to Cancun with his family.

We’re sure that he was just on his way to the airport because that’s what Ted Cruz tends to do when the going gets tough – run! So if Texas, or anyone, was expecting a straight answer out of him then they’re going to be waiting.

Perhaps, the reporter should have waited until Cruz was happily set up and comfy on a zoom call in his Mexican resort, where he couldn’t run away, to ask him that kind of question. Maybe then, after a couple of cocktails, ol’ Ted Cruz would let some tea spill about the whole gun lobby issue and maybe while we’re at it we could ask him why on earth guns were banned at the NRA conference coming up on the 27th, I mean, the NRA conference would be the place to have guns, right?

It’s just rather interesting… how we can get a ban on guns at an NRA conference and legislature that would keep our kids safe is still stalled. Ahem.
