The ballet community has bashed Sydney Sweeney over her social media photos that were deemed offensive.
Ballet Community Blasts Sydney Sweeney’s Photos-‘They Did Her F–king Dirty’
The star, who is best known for being on the hit show ‘Ephoria,’ shared the posts amid the 2022 LACMA Art + Film Gala. In the pictures here, we can see that Sydney is dressed up in a pink tutu. She is making a variety of poses, as she looks at the camera. The post was captioned by the following comments: “Last night, feeling haute.”
Those pictures did not sit very well, as people connected to the ballet community voiced their concerns: Step forward Brennan Clost. The former is an actor and dancer who knows a few things about the industry.
He expanded on how Sydney’s left foot had been incorrectly placed, which may suggest that the post was done without the adequate preparation. Not only that, but Clost also questioned the viability of the look by bashing her fashion.
In response to the post, Brennan remarked: “The ballet community is having a heyday over this post…I don’t know who tied these for her, but they did her f–king dirty. Your ribbons are supposed to…tie your ribbons on the inside of your ankle.”
Nevertheless, it is important to bear in mind the following points. First of all, Sydney is not a professional dancer. Therefore, it is not possible to expect her to abide by the same standards that would usually be expected in comparison to those who would be in the know.
Secondly, some critics argued that Brennan had gone too far with the criticism as it was not much to get worked over. And this was reflected in the comments that followed on social media.
One person wrote: “It’s an artistic/editorial photoshoot, anyone can cosplay as whatever they want for a photoshoot (provided it’s not offensive).” It is fair to say that this was not Sydney’s finest moment.
