Aaron Carter allegedly died without a will which has now complicated things further following his death at the age of 34.
Aaron Carter Died Without Leaving A Will
The star was found by authorities in a bathtub after reports that the house sitter had informed them that someone may have drowned. An investigation is currently ongoing in order to determine the cause of death. But in the meantime, there have been many issues other than that which have raised controversy.
Aaron’s memoir was postponed on the basis of respect for the family who are in mourning. And yet, prior to that happening, there was extensive backlash about the possibility of it being released in the first place.
Aaron’s ex Hilary Duff made it clear in no uncertain terms that this was simply an attempt to generate money through the publicity, which was backed up by Aaron’s management team. But now it has come to a head in another way, as the absence of a will means that the state of California will be in charge of dealing with the financial affairs.
A source told TMZ the following: “Aaron was advised by his attorney to make a will, especially because he had a child who depended on him. Aaron’s lawyer still advised Aaron to make a will, but as you know circumstances tragically changed … Aaron died a week ago.”
With that being said, the primary beneficiaries are most likely going to be his son, Prince, whom he welcomed with his fiancée Melanie Marin last year. Although they did have differences which resulted in Aaron not having custody, there is still the notion of making sure that things are in place for Prince.
The following comments confirmed as much: “In California, and most states for that matter, when a single person dies without a will and leaves a child behind, the child inherits the parent’s estate.” The sooner this is resolved, then the better it is for everyone involved.
