Euphoria star Sydney Sweeney has hit back at internet trolls who have been misusing her nude scenes on the show.

The actress is known for her racy scenes on the series, but the last thing she expected was for her family to be bombarded with them. And that is precisely what happened with suggestions that trolls screen-shotted her scenes and then tagging her family members.
That did not sit very well with Sydney, as she let everyone know she was not going to tolerate such behaviour. In her comments, she said: “My cousins don’t need that. It’s completely disgusting and unfair.”
Nevertheless, it is possible to argue that Sydney has not helped her cause. First of all, by taking up such a role, she has put herself in a position where she has made it possible for people to do this. While this does not justify the behaviour that has emerged, it does provide some much-needed context.
Secondly, if the actress was comfortable with those scenes in the first place, then there is a possibility that her family will have come across them anyway regardless of the trolls. And yet, Sydney had a different take on the matter. She felt that her character’s struggles were justified in light of how she was being treated.
Her following comments confirmed as much: “You have a character that goes through the scrutiny of being a sexualised person at school and then an audience that does the same thing.”
The fans on social media slammed Sydney’s hypocritical approach. And as a consequence, people felt that she had nobody to blame but herself. One person wrote: “If she didn’t want her family to see them, she shouldn’t have done the nude scenes.”
