On the newest episode of Sister Wives, Kody Brown admitted that he had been lying to his ex-wife, Christine Brown about custody laws. Viewers thought that he was playing dirty by telling her lies about what will happen with Truely Brown.
Sister Wives: Kody Lies to Christine…Again
When Christine told Kody that she wanted to leave the marriage, he was pretty emotional. He didn’t expect to hear this from her, but she has been unhappy for years and it was time for her to get out of this miserable marriage.
Sister Wives: Kody Brown Was Lying to Christine Brown about Custody Laws
Kody wanted to try and explain more about getting custody of their youngest daughter. He told her, “You and I have to actually have a child custody agreement in place or the state takes her essentially becomes the owner of her.” Christine seemed to believe him, but then he decided to tell the cameras what he was thinking by telling her this.
He told the cameras, “So I got to this child custody thing, I just started getting creative about it. I just don’t know what to do. Christine’s like, ‘Why do we need to do this?’ And I’m like, ‘Because the rulebook says?’ I don’t know why we need to do this. There is this thing the man-o-sphere where it says, ‘If you’re getting divorced, you’re going to get screwed, bro.'”
Christine knew something up when she brought up the fact that they were never legally married so this didn’t make sense to her. He went on to say, “Doesn’t matter, in this case, we’ve got an issue where we’ve got to have a child custody agreement in place, basically, just say 50/50 agreement that we just work out the details all the time. Otherwise, you’re going to get a lawyer and the government involved state government. The lawyer’s going to take all the money you have.”
When he tells her all of this, she mentions that she wants him to be around the kids so why would she want to fight him on these issues? None of this really makes sense to her and she knows that Kody doesn’t trust her and knows that she will take their youngest to Utah, no questions asked.
She told the cameras, “I would love it not getting a lawyer involved, But if he’s already going there and lawyering up, then I’m going to as well. I don’t wat to though. I’d rather just figure it out amiably. We’ve got kids. We’re not legally married so we don’t have to go down that road.”
