Last week, Coolio performed his final show in Texas alongside Vanilla Ice, who claims he is still in mourning over the loss of his late friend. After learning of Coolio’s passing on Wednesday night, Vanilla Ice says that he was unable to sleep and that he awoke on Thursday “still in shock and freaking out.”
Longtime collaborators Coolio and Ice have been on the “I Love The 90s” tour for the past six years, with a stop in Cypress, Texas, last week serving as Coolio’s final performance.
Coolio reportedly joined Vanilla Ice onstage on Friday night to freestyle during his performance. Afterward, they hung out in Ice’s dressing room, where Coolio appeared to be in excellent shape and was smiling and joking around. The final words Coolio said to Vanilla Ice, “See you tomorrow, homie.”
Vanilla Ice Remembers Friend Coolio After Early Passing, “Still In Shock”
At a friend’s house in downtown Los Angeles, Coolio passed away on Wednesday. According to law enforcement sources, first responders tried to revive the rapper for 45 minutes using CPR. Vanilla Ice claims he can’t stop thinking about how Coolio’s performance last week was his final one. Moreover, he pays tribute to Coolio as a legend whose music will carry on his legacy.
Ice added, “My heart goes out to all the family. I’m truly devastated. He was a great friend.” When Coolio passed away, he was in Los Angeles due to a passport problem because he had upcoming gigs in Germany.
