The pair had been married for around seven years when they decided to walk down the aisle in 2013. During the course of that process, they raised three kids together: Camden, Jaxon and Saylor.
With that being said, there would have been an expectation that things were on better terms for the sake of their kids now that they led separate lives. But it seems that Kristin was going to say her truth, regardless of the offence that it may have caused.
This included an admission that she did call off her engagement prior to marrying Jay. Therefore, she had some reservations about committing herself to him. This came full circle, as they were the same issues that led to the break up.
In her comments, Kristin said: “Basically I called off the engagement [for] the same reason I got a divorce, and so I guess if there’s any takeaway from that is you can’t ignore red flags. People don’t change, and you’ve got to trust your gut.”
In response, Jay has had a more distant approach towards her comments. Rather than engaging in a back-and-forth with Kristen, Cutler decided to keep thinking cordial and play the bigger person.
In doing so, he did not have a lot of time for what Kristin had to say, as he is ultimately focused on himself going forward. And that is the most important thing, as they have children together.
In response to Kristin’s comments, Jay remarked: “I’ve kind of steered clear of all of that. If she wants to say stuff, she can say stuff. I’m not going to go down that road about her. I mean, she’s still the mother of my kids.”
